secondary bevel
The secondary bevel is the bevel from which the cutting edge is formed. It is usually a very small bevel that joins the endpoints of the primary bevel on both sides to a point. A secondary bevel is added in most cases where a knife's servicing will depend on a modern sharpening tool, the edgepro for example. It is next to impossible to sharpen a secondary bevel on a whet stone.
