People's assessors, or jurors are persons who in certain cases specifically determined by procedural law administer justice together with professional judges.

A people's assessor must be a national of Ukraine no younger than 30 years old, according to Article 57 and Article 59 of the Law of Ukraine on Judicial System and Status of Judges.

People's assessors enjoy full authority of a professional judge during consideration of a case or delivering a judgement.
