Magnus Bane is the high warlock of Brooklyn. His main role in the story is the one who takes a responsibility in tampering Clary's mind. Jocelyn asks him to erase Clary's memories related to the Shadow world. Every two years, he does the work to erase Clary's memories. When Clary tries to retrieve her memories, Magnus Bane name appears as the clue of her lost mind. Magnus holds a party when he meets with Clary and her Shadowhunter friends. He tells Clary about what is hidden by Jocelyn. It is portrayed that he has interest in Alec Lightwood. He is willing to help Clary because of Alec's presence with the group.
