In Hebrew would be Yahweh (YHWH) which means "to exist" but in reference to God, stressing that God is self existing and yet causes everything else to exist. We know Jehovah to mean God, and compounds of His name designate titles which reveal additional facts about Gods character, such as:

Jehovah Jireh - The Lord will provide (Genesis 22:14)

Jehovah Nissi - The Lord is my Banner (Exodus 17:15)

Jehovah Shalom - The Lord is Peace (Jude 6:24)

Jehovah Sabbaoth - The Lord of Hosts (1 Samuel 1:3; 17:45)

Jehovah Maccahheshcem - The Lord your Sanctifier (Exodus 31:13)

Jehovah Ro'i - The Lord my Shepherd (Psalm 23:1)

Jehovah Tsidkenu - The Lord Our Righteousness (Jeremiah 23:6)

Jehovah Shammah - The Lord is there (Ezekiel 48:35)

Jehovah Elohim Israel - The Lord, the God of Israel (Jude 5:3; Isiah 17:6).
