The secondary weapon is used if the primary weapon is either unavailable, broken, or not capable of being used at that point in time. The secondary weapon is usually smaller and lighter in weight than the primary as to easily access it in time of need.

During a zombie apocalypse, secondary weapons are crucial in case a zombie gets too close. Acceptable secondary weapons include: hatchets, daggers, pistols(only if ammo is easily accessible), or any assortment of small blunt objects.
