În COBOL, un cuvânt definite de utilizator care clasifică secţiunile în Divizia procedură în scopul de segmentare. Numerele segment poate conţine numai caracterele 0 la 9. Un segment-număr pot fi exprimate fie ca 1 - sau 2-cifre.
