variance rate loans

A loan that has a variable rate of interest based off of an interest rate that floats in relation to an index such as the London Interbank Offered Rate (LIBOR). With respect to LMA loans, the borrower, subject to certain restrictions, has flexibility to repay the variable rate loan in part or whole at any time, although if interest, which is due and payable periodically, is not paid, it will be capitalized.
