nupp
A nupp is a prominent feature on your knitted work. First of all, you need to increase from 1 stitch to 5, or 7, or even more stitches in one go. You increase by alternately knitting 1 stitch then do a yarnover, knit the same stitch (so no slipping), then do another yarnover, etc. until you finish with a knitted stitch and finally slip the whole thing. It is important to work very loosely, because it becomes increasingly difficult to slip the needle through all those loops in the next row, the more stitches you put into your nupp.
In the next row you simply purl all 5, 7 or more stitches together. Done!
In combination with yarnovers, nupps make a very beautiful pattern. You can create flowers, e.g. and use the nupps as petals or leaves.
