If you knit stitches together you reduce the number of stitches. This will make your work smaller. In order to knit stitches together, you insert the right needle into 2 or more stitches, then knit or purl (depending on the pattern) as usual. Done!

If you have to reduce large amounts of stitches, it is advisable to knit 2 stitches together in different equally distributed places in the row. If you have a difficult pattern, try to knit the 2nd and 3rd, and the last but one and two together. This way your pattern is kept save.
