imager
The kV X-ray capability on the HET Clinac that can generate images of the patient on the couch during a treatment session. Mounted on moveable arms, the kV source and the kV target can be positioned anywhere to capture analytic images. Images can be two dimensional or three dimensional. 3D images are created using the Cone Beam CT capability of the imager system. This term also refers to the MV X-ray capability that uses the treatment beam (at a low dose setting) to obtain an image. The MV source is the treatment beam, and the MV target is on an arm opposite the gantry.
