This is the way the ball is put in play at the start of the game, the start of each quarter, or after a goal has been scored. The head referee places the ball at mid-field between the backs of two player's crosses. The crosses must be lying on the ground with the heads an inch apart. The player's bend over or squat down and as soon as the referee blows their whistle the players try to hit the ball with their crosses or even their feet.
