To prevent users from getting too many notifications, slack allows them to have their own personal settings for notifications. Users can choose the number of notifications they want: all the way from “everything” to “just when someone wants my attention”. Users can also customize their own list of highlight words to trigger notifications. Whatever the preferences are, slack will notify its users of new activity on their mobile, desktop or via email.
