Amblyopia
Also called "lazy eye" one of the eye use less than the other, is more common in childhood. It causes the less-used eye to atrophy, its visual acuity deteriorating. (Amblyopia is left untreated; the brain will eventually be unable to interpret any images from the less-used eye)
