software requirements review (SRR)
(1) A review of the requirements specified for one or more software configuration items to evaluate their responsiveness to and interpretation of the system requirements and to determine whether they form a satisfactory basis for proceeding into preliminary design of the configuration items. Note: This review is called software specification review by the U.S. Department of Defense.~(2) A review as in (1) for any software component.
