smallest installable unit (SIU)
The file or set of files that comprise the atomic (non-aggregated) installable unit (IU) that is intended to be deployed into a single hosting environment. The SIU delivers the capability of the IU and its descriptor. An SIU can be added and aggregated with other IUs into a container installable unit (CIU) or into a solution module.
