polysiloxane
(R2SiO)n A polymer in which the chain contains alternate silicon and oxygen atoms; in the formula, R can be H or an alkyl or aryl group; commercially, the R is usually CH3 (the methylsiloxanes); properties vary with molecular weight, from oils to greases to rubbers to plastics.
