Formerly known as the Transbay Tower, Salesforce Tower is a 1,070 ft (326 m) supertall skyscraper under construction in the South of Market district of downtown San Francisco. Located at 415 Mission Street between First and Fremont Streets, Salesforce Tower is the centerpiece of the San Francisco Transbay redevelopment project that contains office buildings, a shopping center, a rooftop park, transportation and residential complexes. When completed, the tower will be the tallest in San Francisco, surpassing the Transamerica Pyramid by more than 200 feet (61 m), and the tallest building on the West Coast of the United States.
Designed by the architectural firm Pelli Clarke Pelli Architects and developed by Hines/Boston Properties, Salesforce Tower will have 61 floors, with a decorative crown reaching 1,070 ft (326 m). The building is scheduled for completion in 2017. The cloud-computing company Salesforce.com will pay $560 million over 15 1/2 years to lead developer Boston Properties for 30 floors of the building.
