Public Company
A company that has sold securities to the public in an IPO or otherwise become subject to the reporting requirements of the 1934 Act. Public companies must provide extensive, ongoing financial and narrative information about their business conditions, results, and prospects in annual, quarterly, and periodic reports that are filed with the SEC and available publicly. Trading in the securities of a public company is permitted subject to the provisions of the 1934 Act.
