soric

Soric is a dish prepared on the 20th of December, the day of 'Ignat', a Romanian celebration close to Christmas. It is obtained by singeing the pig and removing its top surface. Traditionally, this ritual is performed by men who drink 'tuica' (a strong alcoholic beverage made from various fermented fruits), who make small children sit on the pig as a sign of good luck for the following year.
