Electronic dance music,commonly refereed to as EDM, is a set of percussive electronic music genres. Produced and popularized by Disk Jockeys (DJs) the music is targeted towards dance based entertainment, such as clubs and music festivals. EDM is produced with the intention of being played in a continuous DJ set. During the late 2000s the acronym EDM was established and came to be a common way of referring to electronic dance music. There are many sub genres withing EDM, such as House, Techno, Dub-step, Electronic, Hard, Trance etc.
