The Reaping in the movie The Hunger Games, is an annual event for every district. Set up as a raffle system, the reaping determines who the tributes will be from each district for the games. Two names are chosen from each district, one boy, one girl.

In the movie, Primrose, Katniss's younger sister, was chosen first for the girls. Katniss was so upset she volunteered to take her place.
