Amelia Jessica Pond, often Amy Pond, sometimes Amelia Williams after her marriage, is a companion of the Eleventh Doctor. Amy first meets the Doctor as a child, but only sees him for a second time by the time she is already an adult, after which she starts travelling with the Doctor, eventually being joined by her fiancé and later husband, Rory Williams. With Rory, Amy has a child, Melody Pond, who is later revealed to be River Song. She becomes the Doctor’s mother-in-law when her daughter River Song marries the Doctor. Amy dies aged 87, sometime prior to 2012, and is buried beside her husband Rory in New York. She dies after allowing herself to be sent back into time by a Weeping Angel, hoping to reunite with Rory after he has been attacked by the same Weeping Angel.
